The Ministry of Trade and Industry was established by UNMIK Regulation No 2001/19, of 13th September 2001 on the Executive Branch of Provisional Institutions of Self Government in Kosovo. Pursuant to Annex III of the above mentioned Regulation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry shall administer business database – see point XI, and on the basis of Regulation 2001/6 and Administrative Direction 2002/22 provisions, established a Registration Office. Business enterprise registration office and their trade name in Kosovo (Registration Office) was established under Administrative Direction 2002/22 and in compliance with Regulation 2001/6 of Trade Associations. Registration office officially was opened on 11th of November 2002 as an independent executive agency, within the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This office, first permanent registration applications has received them from 13 March 2003, when also admission of documents for temporary registration was repealed.
